Update: Firefox 3.0.10

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

What a busy day, eh? :)

Firefox 3.0.10 has been released to fix a security vulnerability caused by a regression introduced in 3.0.9.

By the way, am I the only one who thinks the “Using Internet Explorer is So 2006” message displayed on the Mozilla site is really lame?

Update: Maxthon 2.5.1.4075

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

Maxthon 2.5.1.4075 is now available for download.

Why the big version number jump, you’ll ask. Well, there’s something else wrapped inside this release beside a long list of fixes (I can’t help mentioning the “possibly fixed” changelog entries :D ).

Starting with this version, tabs in Maxthon are really independent from each other, meaning that a frozen tab won’t cause the whole browser to become unresponsive. Such tabs can be closed or simply refreshed.

On the downside, I noticed a problem with moving Maxthon’s window around. Sometimes, when I “grab” the title bar with the mouse pointer and drag, it behaves like nothing happened, but when I release the mouse button, the window “jumps” to the new location. Strange :|

Other glitches I’ve experienced:
- opening a new tab via CTRL-n causes the address bar to lose focus after 1 second, so to type something you have to re-select the field (by using the mouse or otherwise)
- no option to enable the window frame
- when maximized, Maxthon seems to go outside the desktop by 1 or 2 pixels on the right side of the screen (the vertical scrollbar for example is not visible completely)

Sorry guys.. but I’m downgrading to Maxthon 2.1.5.1250 for the time being :(
